Leslie Tay’s portrayal of Jupiter in New Opera Singapore’s Orpheus in the Underworld was applauded by the Straits Times for being “impressive”, with acting and singing “the most convincing among the male cast”. It also praised him for his assumption of Emperor Altoum in Singapore Lyric Opera’s Turandot, commending Tay for making the character a “deeply human individual”. He has performed with companies such as Dicapo Opera, Bronx Opera and dell’Arte Opera in NYC in operas such as L’elisir d’amore, La Cenerentola, Don Giovanni. He has also sung with the Boston Lyric Opera Chorus and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus. He was a young artiste in Lorin Maazel’s 2011 Castleton Festival. Leslie graduated from Manhattan School of Music and Boston Conservatory. He is currently on the voice faculty of SOTA.
